Welcome to Alleghany Trail Blazers
Stacy Evans has always had a love for horses and children. A few years ago Stacy had a visitor at
his home in Glade Creek, his name was Marshall C. Marshall is a very special person who
was born with special needs and loves to ride horses. Stacy invited Marshall to ride at his home
on a prized horse named Prince. Stacy was so inspired by the transformation he saw in Marshall
from riding the horse. Stacy knew in his heart that this was something he would love to do.

Later on that year, Stacy opened a Riding Stables at Glade Valley and decided to pursue the
dream of Susan M. Billings, which involved therapeutic riding. Since then he opened Alleghany
Trail Blazers, Inc., a non profit organization whose purpose is to promote the rehabilitation of
individuals with physical, emotional, and learning disabilities through equine-related activities.

Stacy is currently taking classes to become a Registered Therapeutic Instructor and is striving
to have the Glade Valley facility become a NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped
Association) certified facility. We welcome special needs students from all areas to come and ride
with Alleghany Trail Blazers. There is no charge for these students for the riding program.
Therapeutic riding has shown to improve muscle tone, balance, posture, coordination, motor
development and emotional well-being. |
